Lakes, Ponds & Lagoons
Large lakes, ponds, and lagoons are often managed differently from closed recirculating systems. At these volumes, mechanically filtering the entire water body may not be practical; the focus is often on circulation, aeration, nutrient management, and targeted treatment to maintain desired water-quality conditions.

SIVAT Water Solutions supplies circulation, aeration and water quality equipment for amenity lakes, ponds, golf course waterways and recreational lagoons, where treating the whole water body mechanically is rarely practical.
What these systems require
Aeration and circulation to prevent stratification and maintain dissolved oxygen through the water column. Stratified water bodies develop anoxic layers that release nutrients and produce odor, and turnover events can cause fish kills.
Nutrient management to control algae. Circulation to prevent stagnation. Where clarity or specific water quality is required, targeted filtration on a portion of the volume rather than the whole.
Golf-course waterways can carry an additional consideration: they may serve as irrigation sources as well as amenities, creating water-quality requirements that need to be coordinated with the landscape and irrigation design.
Where projects go wrong
Aeration is sized on surface area rather than volume and depth. Depth determines diffuser back pressure and how much of the water column actually turns over. Surface aeration on a deep pond leaves the bottom anoxic.
Diffuser access is not designed in. Diffusers foul and need periodic service. Retrieving them from the bottom of a lake requires provisions made at installation, retrieval lines, floats, or removable assemblies. Without them, service means divers.
Nutrient loading from the watershed is not accounted for. Runoff carrying fertilizer drives algae regardless of what the aeration system does. Equipment cannot solve a nutrient input problem, and treating it as one produces disappointment.
Power distribution to remote equipment is underestimated. Diffusers and circulators may sit hundreds of feet from the nearest power. Conduit, trenching, and electrical distribution or the use of remote solar and battery systems are real project costs that can all too often get overlooked.
How SIVAT helps
We size aeration against depth and volume rather than surface area, confirm diffuser retrieval provisions exist, and flag where nutrient input will limit what equipment can achieve.
