Commercial and Retail

Commercial and retail projects use aquatic systems as part of the customer experience, including lobby aquaria, atrium water features, restaurant tanks, casino displays, shopping-center features, and other public-facing water systems. The system is part of the architecture and the brand, so it has to look right, operate quietly, and remain serviceable without disrupting business.

SIVAT Water Solutions supplies life support and filtration equipment for lobby aquaria, atrium water features, restaurant tanks, casino displays and shopping center features that have to stay serviceable in a public building.

What sits in this market

Office, mixed-use, retail, restaurant, casino, entertainment, and public-facing commercial environments, including display aquaria, courtyard features, lobby systems, koi ponds, and fountain systems.

What these systems require

Reliable equipment and controls, because the system is visible to customers but often maintained by building staff with many other responsibilities.

Serviceability in a finished space. Equipment may sit behind walls, below grade, or in compact plant rooms, and access for filter media changes, probe calibration, pump service, and UV maintenance has to be designed in before construction.

Appearance is the specification. On a display system, water clarity is the product, so the equipment package needs to hold clarity continuously while operating quietly and predictably.

Where projects go wrong

Aquatic requirements are treated as a small part of the broader building design. Equipment may be selected to satisfy individual schedule lines without enough coordination across the complete life support system, creating interface and performance problems later.

Maintenance access disappears as the building design tightens. Once finishes, millwork, storefronts, or back-of-house layouts are complete, access problems become expensive to correct.

Downtime is underestimated. A display aquarium, restaurant tank, or lobby feature cannot be treated like equipment that can be shut down without customer impact.

How SIVAT helps

We help size and supply the equipment, define appropriate controls and alarm requirements, and identify maintenance and service needs before the project commits to the equipment package.

We also supply replacement parts and longer-term service engagements once the property is open and operating.
